The Real Problem Wasn’t Takeda — It Was Akiko |This Relationship Is a Classic Case of “Not Meant for Ordinary Love”

■Understanding “Why Ordinary Love Fails” Through Manga

This time, we’ll be analyzing the relationship between Akiko and Takeda as depicted in Winter Memories — Eternal Love, To You (Episodes 1–12).

This discussion assumes you’ve already read the manga, so if you haven’t yet, please check it out first.

■This Story Isn’t Just About a “Terrible Guy”

At first glance, the setup is simple:

  • Akiko wants to pursue her dreams

  • Takeda wants to marry Akiko

And out of jealousy toward her talent, Takeda begins to bully her in order to control her.

He pressures her:

“Get back with me if you don’t want this to continue.”

 “Marry me.”

He tries to crush her dreams.

And yes—he’s portrayed very clearly as a terrible guy.

—However.

He’s not the only problem in this story.

■The Real Issue Lies in Akiko’s Love Pattern

In astrology and similar systems, there are people who are not suited for:

  • Dating

  • Marriage

  • Raising children

  • Living a stable, peaceful life

In other words, they are not meant for “ordinary marriage.”

This doesn’t mean something is wrong with them.

Rather, they carry what can be called an “evolutionary type” of relationship pattern.

■The Key Example: “Hagun” (The Breaker Star)

There are many variations of this, but in this story, Akiko is portrayed as someone with one of the most intense types:

Hagun (破軍)

In simple terms, this is a star that:

breaks, rebuilds, and continues to evolve.

■The Source of That “Weird Feeling”

There’s a moment in the story that may have felt off.

“Akiko would never betray someone important to her.”

Takeda comes to this conclusion in Episode 4.

However, in that same episode, Akiko is clearly influenced by her surroundings and neglects Shotaro.

In other words, this panel intentionally shows Akiko’s contradiction.

■Why Does This Contradiction Happen?

The answer is simple.

This is exactly how Hagun works.

  • It breaks and rebuilds even the self

  • It shifts toward what feels right in the moment

  • As a result, it appears inconsistent

There is no ill intent.

But inevitably, it shakes and transforms the lives of those involved.

That is Hagun.

■Who Was Actually Being Controlled?

In the story, it looks like Takeda is trying to suppress Akiko.

But in reality, it’s the opposite.

Takeda is the one being shaken and controlled by Akiko.

Did you notice that scene in Episode 10?

Takeda’s ideal vision of marriage:

・Get married

  • Have children

  • Dual income is fine

  • As long as we can be together

—This is completely normal. Just… really, really normal.

In other words, Takeda was trying to fit Akiko into a “normal relationship and marriage framework.”

So what happened as a result?

Akiko’s suppressed energy exploded, and Takeda was forced into a position where his life had to change.

“I want to be with you no matter what,” he tried to push through with his original plan.

But in the end, he couldn’t stop Akiko’s transformation.

—That’s the true structure of this story.

■There Are People Who Cannot Live Within “Normal Love”

And this is the core point.

There are, without a doubt, people in this world for whom “ordinary love and marriage simply do not work.”

However, very few are aware of this about themselves.

■It’s Not “Impossible”—It’s “Incompatible”

This is important.

It’s not that these people can’t get married.

It’s that if they try to follow the “normal path,” it will collapse.

■Without Awareness, You Repeat Akiko’s Path

Without understanding this, you end up asking:

“Why does this keep happening?” “Why does everything fall apart?”

And your relationships collapse without you ever knowing why.

Just like Akiko.

■Which Side Are You On?

So this time, we’ve put together:

  • Whether you might be this type

  • And what you should do about it

■For Those Struggling in Love

  • You want to get married, but things don’t work out

  • Your relationships always become chaotic

If that’s you, this may become your breakthrough.
