You Don't Have to Follow Everything Your Teacher Says | Find Your Own Training Method
Updated: Aug 6

This article is based on Episode 5-10 of アルカナロット.
I'm diving straight into the topic, so if you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend checking it out first.
I also recommend reading this previous article:
To summarize that article in one sentence:
Everyone has their own optimal way to practice and improve.
No matter how motivated you are,
if your training method doesn't match who you are,
eventually, you won't be able to keep going.
In other words,
it's not that you're incapable of working hard—
you may simply be using the wrong approach.
And that's a very real possibility.
Yet in reality, we're taught ideas like these:
Training should come from a master.
If you copy successful people, you'll become successful too.
You should always follow those who are older or more experienced.
If you don't succeed, you either lack talent or didn't work hard enough.
These beliefs have become completely normal.
Whether it's manga,movies,sports,school,or the workplace,
we grow up believing that
"Someone else already knows the correct way to train."
But the world is built on a different system.
As I explained in that article,
no matter how brilliant a genius's method may be,
the moment it is taught to someone else,
it becomes Saturn's rule.
In other words,
the method that was perfect for them
is not necessarily the method that's perfect for you.
That doesn't mean their teaching is wrong.
On the contrary,
they're sharing the very best method they've discovered.
However,
their method alone cannot develop
your Neptune—your soul's own natural way of growing.
Your way (Neptune) ≠ A genius's method (Saturn)
That's why the system eventually breaks down.
This is why,
in the end,
you have to experiment,
learn through experience,
and build your own personal system.
Otherwise,
even the most important element of growth—
consistency—
becomes difficult to maintain.
So this brings us to today's topic:
"What is the best training method, practice routine, and daily habit for you?"
Throughout this article,
I'll use studying as the main example to match the story.
However,
this idea applies to far more than studying.
It works for
your job,
sports,
creative work,
household tasks,
strength training,
and virtually any skill you practice every day.
As you read,
try applying these ideas to your own life.
Note 1
This article is not meant to deny the value of teachers, coaches, or mentors.
Every teacher and coach is doing their best to share what they believe is the most effective method.
The important part isn't rejecting their advice.
It's learning how to adapt it,
add your own ideas,
and gradually turn it into a training system that truly fits you.
That's the purpose of this article.
Note 2
There's one more thing.
This article is not about finding a guaranteed path to success.
Instead,
it's about discovering the training method that suits you best.
Finding your ideal approach doesn't mean everyone will become a Major League athlete.
Why?
Because each person has their own destiny,
their own role,
and their own path to walk.
I explain that idea in more detail here:
That concludes the introduction.
Next time,
let's identify your own personal training method.
*Sorry, I forgot to summarize this important information.
Please be sure to check it out—it can be a bit tricky if you don’t understand this.
