Adapt or Evolve?

Last time, I explained that the Ascendant, which represents one’s core self, and the Midheaven, which represents one’s outer image, are positioned at a 90-degree angle.
I talked about how most people have this so-called “bad angle.”
This time, I want to explain what is rarely talked about: that bad angles, or hard aspects, are actually angles of evolution.
That said, it’s not such a difficult topic. It becomes easier to understand when we look at it through the elements.
These are the four elements often seen in manga and anime: fire, water, earth, and air.
Although five-element systems exist, astrology uses the four elements, so we’ll use them here.

When placed on the horoscope, they are arranged like this.

Up until now, I’ve only talked about hard aspects, but of course, there are harmonious aspects as well. The most representative ones are these two.
120 degrees and 60 degrees.

Let's take Aries as our reference point.
From here, 60 degrees away are Gemini and Aquarius,
and 120 degrees away are Leo and Sagittarius.
Represented by the elements, it looks like this:
60 degrees is fire × air, and 120 degrees is fire × fire.
If you want to make a small fire bigger, you add wind or bring in a larger fire.
That makes it easy to strengthen the fire. It’s natural, rational, and above all, simple and easy.
This is what is called a harmonious aspect, what people generally describe as good compatibility.
From the equation “good compatibility equals no strain equals something good,” these aspects are considered harmonious.
Now, here is the main point. Again using Aries as the base, the signs positioned at 90 degrees are Cancer and Capricorn.

In elemental terms, this places earth and water against fire. Both suppress fire. Water obviously does, and earth is also used in fire extinguishers to put flames out.
From fire’s perspective, this is unbearable. These are two elements at 90 degrees that come to deny it.
This relationship almost certainly forms between the Ascendant and the Midheaven due to their structure, which is why using this hard aspect is best.
Most people think, “I don’t need this.” They say it’s better to use fire more efficiently, and as a result, they don’t use hard aspects, relying only on what feels comfortable.
But everyone, really—take a moment and think carefully.
Hot water can only be created from fire and water.
Gemstones can only be created from fire and earth.
With the harmonious aspects we talked about earlier, fire only produced fire. But with hard aspects, something new can be created.
From this system, I see harmonious aspects as angles of adaptation, and hard aspects as angles of development.
From here, we can say that hard aspects are angles of evolution. I want you to make use of this quality and truly work with your Ascendant and Midheaven.
Next time, I'll explain how we can actually transform constellations into human figures and evolve them more concretely. Stay tuned!!
