Up to this point, I’ve explained that the Ascendant represents things like one’s facial appearance, clothing style, and overall first impression.

I also discussed the odd nature of trends and how people tend to use them.

Among those topics, I briefly mentioned people who try to assert dominance, and now we’ll take a deeper look at who they really are.

Research shows that many scholars conclude that people who take such attitudes usually have low self-esteem.

I agree with that, but I’d add that those who take such attitudes often feel empty inside.

As mentioned earlier, human growth has an astrological flow.

Aries symbolizes birth, Taurus represents the establishment of self-worth, and Gemini signifies intellectual curiosity.

People who were unable to establish their own likes and dislikes during childhood tend to engage in dominance behavior more easily.

There are three possible reasons for why this foundation wasn’t formed.

①They lacked financial freedom to make their own choices.

②They were bound by their parents’ tastes and rules.

③They consumed too much trend information and lost sight of themselves.

With such backgrounds, people may grow up without a sense of “this is who I am.”

Lacking self-worth, they can’t validate themselves and come to believe that “following trends equals being great.”

They convince themselves that they are impressive simply because they follow trends.

But in reality, because they don’t truly believe in their own value, they end up depending on others’ evaluations.

For them, the idea that “trend followers are great people” must not collapse.

That’s why they try to assert dominance over others—because they want to feel that they are valuable.

This is the true nature of people who take such attitudes.

They are simply people who, in their own clumsy way, can’t let their inner selves shine.

Seen from this angle, they too are victims of the commercial illusion that “trends equal greatness.”

So you don’t need to let such people influence your life, your worth, or your destiny.

And if you happen to be someone who takes such attitudes, I hope you’ll take the time to look at your own star again.

I want you to walk the path toward your true happiness, not a tiring life that can only be maintained by looking down on others.

Now that we’ve explored various aspects of the Ascendant, next time I’ll touch a bit on human relationships based on what we’ve covered. Stay tuned!
